From Psychology to Yoga: Dr. Larry Waldman’s Life of Reinvention and Impact

A Remarkable Guest on the Phoenix Prosperity Podcast
It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Dr. Larry Waldman to the Phoenix Prosperity Podcast. Larry is a longtime Phoenix-based clinical and forensic psychologist, author, speaker, and now—yoga instructor. His insights into how professionals in mental health can grow personally and professionally made for a truly inspiring conversation.

Larry has spent over four decades helping families, courts, and communities throughout Arizona. But what sets him apart is how he’s continually reinvented himself—from pioneering forensic psychological evaluations for estate planning attorneys to coaching mental health professionals on the business side of their practices.

Teaching Therapists to Think Like Entrepreneurs
Many therapists, as Larry explains, are trained to help others but rarely taught how to run a business. That’s something he’s been actively changing through his coaching work and his book The Graduate Course You Never Had. Our discussion really highlighted how important it is for service professionals to market themselves ethically and sustainably.

Aging Well—Body and Mind
Now in his late 70s, Larry continues to make an impact by teaching yoga to seniors. He shared some of the simple but powerful movements he uses to keep himself—and his students—balanced, mobile, and thriving well into their golden years.

From his experience in parenting education, to his current work helping others build legacies of impact, Larry brought wisdom and warmth to every part of our conversation.
